DUROPAL AND PFLEIDERER INDUSTRIE PRESENT NEW COLOUR MATCH DECORS AT INTERZUM 2011

Arnsberg/Gütersloh/Cologne, May 2011 – Duropal and Pfleiderer Industrie are presenting their latest colour match decors at the Interzum 2011 – and this time there are quite a few. The spectrum of new products ranges from several oak, wenge and ash variations and attractive plank flooring to “used look” stone decors.

Ceramico Rust, for example, accommodates our desire for original primitive naturalness and puzzles the observer: does it actually look like colourful oxidised stone or perhaps crystalline rust on steel? “We are deliberately leaving that question open,” explains Peter Röhr, Duropal Product Manager. “At any rate, with “Ceramico Rust” we are paying homage to the era before high-tech and digitalisation and we are offering it with the same decor as HPL and direct coating.”

Just like the old plank flooring, Dayton Blue with its coat of paint seemingly worn away through years of use. “This HPL decor is partly inspired by the exceptional Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek amongst others, who creates wonderful contemporary furniture from reclaimed scrap wood”, explains Röhr: “His favourite material is floorboards left over from Amsterdam town house renovations.”

The natural look of planking also features in Dakota Oak. Duropal has had this particularly accomplished imitation oak with clearly visible saw marks in their programme since 2009 and now – colour matched with Pfleiderer Industrie – has complemented it with the variations “Dakota Oak lava” and “Dakota Oak terra”.

“It has the charm of imperfection, simplicity, improvisation”, states Röhr: “With its light colours (which could be further whitened through subsequent liming or from the elements), “Dakota Oak” has a light and emotive appeal in all its colour variations.”

Santana Oak stands out as equally rough-sawn and light, although less rustic-looking. With copper and colours of the moor, this oak decor has a fine grain and a vibrant planking effect for high pressure laminate and direct coating; its streaked detail, cut-off buds, colour and contrast progression and occasional knots lend this decor its special solid wood characteristics.

Dragon Ash is proof that a rough-sawn appearance can actually appear elegant – a perfect reproduction of ash veneer in two colour combinations which can be colour matched. “The crisscrossing of the pore detail and the rough-sawn structure in this reproduction lend the decor a graphic surface aura with a genuine textile appearance,” says Röhr.

The stone reproduction effect of Ipanema is just as elegant but notably simpler – for HPL in three different shades of grey. However, this flat portrayal of granite achieves a remarkable impression of depth due to its rough, pitted 3D structure and linear injections of colour.

“Less is sometimes more” is underlined by Shiraz Wenge, which in particular lives by its porous appearance. Large, open pores, rich in contrast and yet harmoniously flowing, denote a character for this decor that is both expressive and elegant. It is available in monochrome silver-grey and black and white as well as in more colourful versions which bring it in line with the current mainstream – available both as high pressure laminate as well as chipboard or MDF panel with decorative coating.
